Thai Basil Chicken

Updated: Aug 9, 2022

This recipe deserved a place on my blog. This is how I make it (different from Pinterest)

It’s that time of year! Thai basil chicken time! I love this recipe so much and NOW Thai Basil will be abundant in the farmers markets if you don’t grow it yourself. I got some intel that it’s also available at Whole Foods. Hooray! I made this the other night and wanted to post my recipe which is an altered version of one I found on Pinterest a while ago.

This is how I make it, so I am laying out the recipe very simply.

1 Pound Ground Chicken, Turkey, or Pork, your preference.

1 diced onion

A spoonful of minced garlic

A few dashes of hot red pepper flakes

A small spoonful of Better than Bullion chicken paste (We always have this around for our French Onion Chicken Recipe)

A few dashes of Soy Sauce

A Bunch of Thai Basil, leaves only

Olive oil to coat the pan.

In a wok or large sauté pan heat oil over medium/high heat. Sauté the garlic and onions until soft, add the ground chicken and continue to cook. About half way through the ground chicken cooking, add in the soy sauce and better than bullion chicken paste and the hot red pepper flakes. Once chicken is completely cooked through, add in the Thai basil leaves and serve.

You can also try sautéing some green beans to add to this meal. I did that with these purple long beans and it was delicious!
