Scale Drama.

Stop giving power to a number on the scale!

Water weighs... we know this. I gained 4 pounds of water in 3 days eating honey baked ham for Christmas. No joke. My joints were swollen, I felt puffy... Needless to say, I will be approaching ham differently in the future. Did I panic? No. I knew exactly what was going on, and I knew it would be back off in no time.

It took three days to put on and 4 days to come back off.

My weight fluctuates about 5 pounds over the course of a month. My protocol doesn’t change, it’s all related to water and hormones.

Do an experiment. Try weighing yourself multiple times a day and see what happens with the scale. Track your weight daily over a few months and notice the fluctuations with your weight as it relates to your cycle. It's no big deal.

What about this… I did 24 hour fasts with weekly consistency and when I get on the scale in the morning, the number is usually *UP* by 1 pound. Did I gain a pound by not eating? Goodness no. I had bone broth and salt so I gained some water weight. No big deal.

If you have a "joy eat" you might see the scale go up and that's also related to water. Big insulin spikes that will occur when you eat sugar and flour cause you to retain water and sodium... so that temporary increase in the scale after a "joy eat" ... it's got a lot to do with water. No big deal friends. No need to panic. Nothing has gone wrong.

Conversely, if you see the scale go down an entire pound in one day, some of it *might* be fat loss, a lot of it is likely related to water. It’s a-okay.

So many people hate weighing themselves daily because they can’t stand to see the number go up or stay the same while they are trying to lose weight. I can’t tell you how many of my previous weight loss attempts ended because of THOUGHTS I had about a number on a scale. Permanent weight loss is a process, don’t give away power to a number on the scale or water weight ❤️
